The arguments used to keep Flock 👇🏽
"The state added regulations"
The state passed SB-6002, which adds slight guardrails to Flock but still legitimizes their usage. Some cities have been using this as a reason to keep Flock. However, SB-6002 leaves many concerns unaddressed and requires 0 auditing. It also prevents Washingtonians from submitting public records request for Flock data, diminishing transparency.
"It helps us solve crime"
Great. You were able to locate a few stolen cars, but you've subjected hundreds of thousands of your citizens to surveillance.
